Home Deepwater drilling record set 17 November 2003 with the help of Starmark Offshore Inc.'s STARIS Riser Dynamics Analysis Software. Transocean Inc.'s Discoverer Deep Seas started drilling in 10,011-ft (3051-m) waterdepth in the Gulf of Mexico. Transocean is the first to cross the magical 10,000-ft waterdepth mark with a conventional 21-in drilling riser system.
